Test
All candidates to grades 6 – 11 take the SECONDARY SCHOOL ADMISSION TEST.  Register online at www.ssat.org and arrange to have the scores sent to us.  Our school code is 4144.  To make sure that we receive the scores in time for consideration, candidates must test on one of the following sessions:

  • October 2012
  • November 2012
  • December 2012
  • January 2013

Candidates for grade 12 submit a copy of their scores on the PSAT, SAT and/or ACT college entrance exam.  They do not take the SSAT.

Report Cards and School Records
In place of traditional school records, the adult(s) responsible for home-schooling should submit the following by January 31.

  • Philosophy:  What philosophy guides your approach to home-schooling?  How long has the candidate been home-schooled?  Are there other siblings or students involved?
  • Curriculum:  What texts and resources have been used last year and this year in the candidate’s home-schooling experience?  Please provide syllabi, if available.  What subjects have been covered in the last two years?
  • Transcripts:  Please submit grades for last year and this year to date.  Grades may be in alphabetic, numeric or narrative form.  Please include grades for any classes being taken at other academic institutions.

Recommendation Forms for Teachers and Mentors
It is appropriate for the parent to complete the Teacher Reference Report if he/she is the teacher.  Please submit additional recommendations from adults, other than the home-school teacher who have knowledge of the candidate’s ability.

Download the forms listed below or use those mailed to you in your application packet.  Read the directions carefully.  If someone, other than the parent, is completing the form, sign the release statement and ask that person to return the completed form directly to us between December 1 and January 31.
