PART ONE - Apply

Step 1
Fill out the application for online AP courses.  Complete each section thoroughly including e-mail addresses for you and your parent/guardian.

Step 2
Select the course(s) you wish to take.

Step 3
Submit a 250-300 word essay online.  The choice of topics is listed below.  If you wish, you can compose the essay in a word program and then cut and paste the essay in the text portion of the online application.  It is important that you express yourself clearly.  If you use an outside source, make sure to cite your reference.

Topic I In your opinion, what invention or discovery has brought about the most far-reaching and lasting changes in our civilization? Explain.
Topic II If you had the power to change any event in history (outcome of an election, who won a war, etc.), which would you choose to change? Why?
Topic III Some boxers would want to be compared to Muhammad Ali, some political leaders to Abraham Lincoln.  If you could match someone's achievements, who would it be, and why?  What would you do to earn the comparison?

Step 4
Using a valid credit card, authorize payment of the non-refundable $50 application fee.  This $50 application fee allows you to take courses for one academic year without having to reapply.

Step 5
Submit the completed application.

PART TWO - Submit Documents

Step 1
Submit a transcript reflecting all the high school credits you have earned from your current school and from previous schools.

Step 2
Submit copies of scores from PSAT, SAT I and II, and/or ACT tests, if available.  If you have not taken any of these tests, submit scores from any standardized tests you have taken within the last two years.   If these test scores are part of your transcript, you can eliminate this step

Step 3
Download two Teacher Reference Reports.  Have your parent/guardian sign the release statement on each form.  Give one to your English teacher and another to your math teacher and ask each to complete the form and return it directly to us.

If you are home-schooled, your parent can complete one teacher reference report.  Please give the second form to someone who has worked directly with you. (i.e. music teacher, Boy Scout leader)
