Theatre

Beginning Theatre is designed to open up the world of Theatre to students in grades 7 through 9. In this introductory course, students learn through hands on activities and exercises about all aspects of the theatre, both on and off the stage. This course may be repeated. Students in the 9th grade may enroll in Intermediate Theatre after completing the Beginning Theatre course or its equivalent.

Intermediate Theatre focuses on expanding the acting techniques and styles learned by students in Beginning Theatre. Students learn about the various acting techniques currently used in the Theater, Film, and Television. The course is open to students in grades 9 through 11.

Advanced Theatre is a combination workshop and seminar that focuses on acting, playwriting and directing. Students will learn the basics of both writing and directing their own pieces, working towards producing various pieces each semester. This class is open to 10th through 12th graders. As this is the highest level of theater being offered, students may repeat this course for credit. Prerequisite: Intermediate Theater and/or consent of instructor.
