2013 Interscholastic League of Honolulu Champions!

The 'Iolani Intermediate girls’ golf team won their third team championship in four years at the Bay View Golf Course on March 23, 2013.  The team included eight graders Erin Carson, Rayna Fujimoto, Kaitlin Hori, Emily Mow and Jennifer Sato, and seventh graders Kamie Hamada and Kristin Miyagi.  The young Raiders found themselves tied for first place with Hawaii Baptist Academy and one point ahead of Mid Pacific going into the final tournament of the season. Motivated to play well, the Raiders organized their own team practices and worked on their golf games throughout Spring Break.  In the championship, the team came together to play some of their best golf of the season. Led by Kamie Hamada’s round of two over par, the Raiders made clutch shots on the final holes and won the tournament by two strokes! Kamie Hamada also captured the girls’ individual championship at the Hawaii Kai Golf Course on April 6, 2013 with a score of 55 (one over par). Kristin Miyagi captured a bronze medal.
