Kathryn Godwin
 |
Write Right for Grades 10-12.
Kathryn Godwin earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia and an MA in English with a specialization in the Teaching of Writing from Southern Illinois University. She is currently working on her doctoral dissertation through the School of Education, Capella University, Advanced K-12 Teaching Specialization.

Before coming to 'Iolani, Ms. Godwin taught college composition courses for Leeward and Windward Community Colleges on Oahu and for Southwestern Illinois College and Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville on the mainland. She has taught English at 'Iolani since 2002.

Cindy Scheinert

Cindy Scheinert earned B.A.s in Spanish (’78) and English (’79) from Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. She joined the ‘Iolani faculty in the fall of 1980 and spent many years teaching both English and Spanish to students in grades 7-12. While employed by ‘Iolani, she earned an M.A. in Spanish from Middlebury College in Vermont by attending summer session courses and spending a one-half year sabbatical in Madrid, Spain.

She began teaching the summer P/SAT Prep course in the summer of 1995, and has taught the course continuously since then. In 1999, Cindy moved to ‘Iolani’s lower school, where she presently teaches 5th-grade language arts.

Amy Yonashiro

PSAT/SAT
Amy Yonashiro earned a B.A.in Mathematics from Colorado College and a M.Ed.(Educational Foundations) from the University of Hawaii. She has been teaching mathematics for 22 years and taught at Seabury Hall (Maui) and Kamehameha Schools (Kapalama campus) before coming to Iolani in 1992. Currently she teaches Precalculus and AP Calculus AB.
