How are students selected for admission?

We are looking for bright and active students who have the ability and potential to be successful and happy at `Iolani.  We also are looking for well-rounded students who will contribute to the life of the school.

When selecting kindergarten students we consider:

• information on the application
• preschool progress reports and teacher comments
• test results
• evaluator observations

For students entering grades 6 - 12, we consider:

• information on the application
• academic record, essay and test scores
• teachers' recommendations
• mentors' recommendations
• character, work ethic and leadership qualities
• information gathered during the interview or activity session
