Homecoming Week 2005

HOMECOMING WEEK

October 24-29

Homecoming co-chairs, Sarah Matsui, Jonathan Nakasone, and Jeni Yamamoto and Proconsuls Austin Barnes and Suveg Pandey have planned a week full of fun and energy.  The week, themed “SHAKE IT UP!,” will be sure to bring the Raider spirit out of each and every one of us.  Here are the highlights:

 

MONDAY, October 24

Dress Day                  Fashion No No Day – students should wear their most mismatched and repulsive outfit.  As always, students must remain in dress code.

8:09 a.m.                     Homecoming kickoff, Center Courtyard

Lunch Activity            Fun Food Assembly, Center Courtyard

 

TUESDAY, October 25

Dress Day                  Safety Gear Day – Students must wear at least 3 authentic protective items (i.e. kneepads, shin guards, knee braces, elbow pads, wrist braces, ankle braces, helmet, goggles, safety vest, inflatable vest, head lamp, boots, gloves, mouth guard, etc.).  A pair of items will only be counted as one item and students need the pair in order to be counted.  As always, students must remain in dress code.

WEDNESDAY, October 26

Dress Day                  Salt and Pepper Day – Students must be wearing more than 50% of black, white, and/or grey to represent salt and pepper.  As always, students must remain in dress code.

THURSDAY, October 27

Dress Day                  Dress Like a Tourist Day – Students must dress like a tourist.  As always, students must remain in dress code.

Lunch Activity            Polaroid Pictures, Upper School

Special Assembly       Lip Sync, Lower Gym, 2:15 p.m.

 

FRIDAY, October 28

Dress Day                  All-Out Raider Day – Students must be dressed in red, black, and/or white to show their Raider spirit.  As always, students must remain in dress code (but may wear THIS year’s Go Raiders! t-shirt).

Lunch Activity            Secret Assembly, Center Courtyard

Special Assembly       Cheerfest, Lower Gym, 2:15 p.m.

3:15 p.m.                     Iolani vs. Punahou, Kozuki Stadium

6:00 p.m.                     Ho’olaule’a, Lower Gym* (featuring Iolani Dance Team, Halau Iolani, Stage Band III, and Homecoming Court)

7:15 p.m.                     Burning of the “I”, Art Building Lawn

 

SATURDAY, October 29

Homecoming Dance   Lower Gym, 7-9 p.m. for grades 7/8, 7-11 p.m. for grades 9-12.  Juniors and Seniors may purchase guest passes from the Main Office before Friday, 10/28, noon.  All students must bring socks, current school ID, and money.

  

*A bento dinner for $6 can be purchased from the Student Activities or Upper School Main Offices.  Call 943-2287 for more information.
