HOMECOMING: Lower School Rally

October 26, 2011 - Varsity athletes, cheerleaders and the pep band put on a Homecoming Pep Rally this morning for Lower School students, which included cheers, a relay race and a lesson about the "One Team" spirit.

Football players Dane Arakawa '12 and Schuyler Shigemura '12, soccer player Malia Brennan '12, basketball player Gabriel Vega '12, softball player Nani Taniguchi '12, and cross country runner Troy Esaki '12, who won the ILH individual championship on Saturday, put on a clever skit that taught the young students about Fr. Bray and that the "One Team" spirit lives within everyone.

Then, after varsity football coach Mr. Wendell Look, addressed the enthusiastic group and reinforced the "One Team" message, the One Team Field House erupted as the cheerleaders, accompanied by the pep band, led a cheer competition.

One of the highlights of the pep rally was a football-related relay race, featuring a fourth, fifth and sixth grader.

The Homecoming game against Damien Memorial School will be played after school on Friday. Kickoff at Eddie Hamada Field is set for 3:15 p.m.

On Oct. 15, the Raiders clinched their seventh consecutive Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division II title and a berth into the upcoming HHSAA Division II State Championship Tournament with a 21-6 victory over Pac-Five at Aloha Stadium.

Go Raiders!
