New Frosh Meet-n-Greet Sleepover

New Frosh Meet-n-Greet Sleepover

August 14, 2012 - The Class of 2016 held its "New Frosh Meet-n-Greet Sleepover" on Monday until Tuesday morning.

The annual event welcomed incoming freshmen to the 2012-13 school year.

One of the highlights was a service project for the Hawaii Nature Center, where the new ninth graders, joined several returning ninth graders and some older student mentors and young alums. The participants moved piles of branches and logs from a mango tree to the other side of the stream to help the Nature Center get ready for its upcoming educational programs.

In addition to lunch, dinner and snacks, the students enjoyed various get-to-know activities, team-building exercises and orientation sessions, before sleeping over in the Upper School dance room.

Mahalo to Mr. Kirk Uejio and Mr. Reid Sagawa for designing the "New Frosh Meet-n-Greet Sleepover" to make the transition to 'Iolani smoother.
