Beginning Theater - This class is designed to open up the world of Theater to students in grades seven through nine. As it is an introductory course, students will learn through hands on activities and exercises about all aspects of the Theater, both on and off the stage. Students taking this class in seventh grade must repeat it as eighth graders before advancing to Intermediate Theater in the ninth grade. Eighth graders have the possibility of advancing to Intermediate Theater in the ninth grade. Ninth graders must advance to Intermediate Theater as tenth graders.
Intermediate Theater - This class focuses on expanding the acting techniues and styles learned by students in Beginning Theater. Students will learn about the various acting techniques currently used in the Theater, Film, and Television. The course is open to students in grades nine through eleven. Prerequisite: Beginning Theater and/or consent of instructor.
Advanced Theater - This class is a combination workshop and seminar that focuses on playwriting and directing. Students will learn the basics of both writing and directing their own pieces, working towards producing their pieces at the end of each semester. This class is open to tenth through twelfth graders. As this is the highest level of Theater being offered, students may repeat this course for credit. Prerequisite: Intermediate Theater and/or consent of instructor.
