War in the 20th Century

 Mr. Bickel

This course acknowledges that war has captured our imagination and is never far from our consciousness. Students investigate and evaluate the perception and reality associated with the major wars of the twentieth century. Students experience the wars from the perspective of participants using relevant fiction and memoirs. Students read All Quiet on the Western Front, With the Old Breed at Peleliua, Maus, War is a Force That Gives Us Meaning, and If I Die in a Combat Zone.
