Women in Literature

As a teacher of young adults, my role as a woman is important to me. As a human being in a position of authority, I set an example for others around me. This is why I am so happy to be teaching this course.  Course Philosophy and Expectations.

Our goals for Women in Literature:

  • To examine the roles of women in literature: as readers, writers, and characters
  • To expand our personal definitions of gender
  • To explore quality literature and connect this literature to our life experience
  • To practice and expand essential skills in preparation for college study
  • To think about ourselves as women and men
