Lawson Signs with Stanford

'Iolani senior Brad Lawson, a 6-6 outside hitter who also received offers from USC and Pepperdine, signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for Stanford University. The signing took place on Wednesday morning at 7:05 a.m. in the Headmaster's Office.

Stanford already has four Hawai'i players, including Kawika Shoji '06 who was a senior at 'Iolani when Lawson was a tenth grader.

In addition to being an outstanding athlete, he is a member of 'Iolani's Hokuloa select chorus. Lawson sang the national anthem before 'Iolani's homecoming football game on November 2. He will also sing at the state football tournament game on November 24 at 'Iolani School.

Lawson was accompanied by his parents, friends and coaches at the letter signing, which was coordinated by Director of College Counseling Todd Fleming. Congratulations to the Lawson family.
