Six of ‘Iolani’s seven orchestras performed at the Lower Gym on Sunday afternoon, December 14, for their winter concert.
Added to this assemblage of string players was the newly formed “Fantastic Fourth Grade Fiddlers.” 
Each group played their own program, ranging from seasonal tunes to music by Handel, a Telemann Viola concerto performed by 6 violists and the massed orchestra of 200 students playing an arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, complete with percussion and 100 balloons popping.
This was a memorable and exceptional concert. Congratulations to orchestra directors Joan Wehrman, Kathy Hafner, the orchestra parents and the 500 audience members.
