City Mill executives win marketing honor

Steven Ai and Carol Ai May, executives of Honolulu-based City Mill Co., have been named Salesperson of the Year for 2009 by the Honolulu chapter of Marketing Executives International.
The group praised the siblings for operating the hardware and home-improvement chain of retail stores as a family-owned business that was founded in 1899.
“Steven and Carol are a brother-and-sister team that has made great contributions to the Hawaii marketplace,” the group said.
Ai is president and CEO of City Mill, and Ai May is vice president and marketing manager.
The marketing executives noted Ai’s community involvement with the YMCA, Hawaii Business Roundtable, American Cancer Society and Iolani School, and Ai May’s work with Child and Family Service, the University of Hawaii Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii.
They will be honored at an awards event at the Sheraton Waikiki on April 6.
