Iolani football coach and PE Department Chair Mr. Wendell Look announced recently that Donny Mateaki, Iolani Class of 2002, graduated on June 10 from the University of Washington.

Mateaki the first family member on his father's side to receive a college diploma played football, basketball and track at Iolani before joining the Huskies where he has played well when not injured.
He will play for Washington again this fall as he completes the one class necessary to fulfill his course requirements.
Matt Leinart, the USC quarterback, did the same thing last fall, taking ballroom dancing as his final academic challenge.
Donny, a 3.0 GPA history major, may well tackle something more substantial.
