Mark Wong '75, President and CEO of Commercial Data Systems (CDS) is "behind the pedals" in the Honolulu Symphony concerts this coming weekend in more ways than one.
First, his company is a major sponsor of the Symphony season.
Second, the concert features the gigantic 3-manual, 101-rank
CDS Concert Organ in the massive orchestral piece, the Symphony #3 ("The Organ Symphony") by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns.
Third, Mark will be literally "behind the pedals" of the organ as the soloist in this final pair of Honolulu Symphony concerts on Thursday May 15 at 8:00 pm and Sunday May 18 at 4:00 pm at the Blaisdell Center Concert Hall.

A performance of this Saint-Saëns symphony is always a major event in the symphonic world and should not be missed. It marks the conclusion of the current Honolulu Symphony season.
CDS commenced operations in 1985 in Honolulu as a developer of UNIX
software and has grown into one of the top ten Federal IT integrators and
resellers and the largest computer consulting firm in Hawaii.
CDS is also a major sponsor of the arts and arts education in Hawaii.
Founder Mark Wong is a significant contributor to Iolani's Performing Arts Department and an accomplished organist and keyboard artist who performs in numerous venues.
This Blaisdell Center Concert Hall performance also features Concertmaster Ignace Jang in the Mozart Violin Concerto #3 and is guest conducted by Naoto Otomo of the Kyoto Symphony.
Tickets range from $21 to $74 and are available online at:
http://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/861034
or through the Honolulu Symphony at (808) 792-2000 (weekdays) or (808) 524-0815 ext. 245 (evenings). Students, military and seniors receive a 20% discount.
