Seniors and their Eighth Grade younger siblings were in the audience yesterday as the Fourth Annual 'Iolani Film Festival, created, produced and directed by founder, English teacher Ms. Shirley Longo, entered its penultimate day.
Monday's selections featured the games people play. The audience entered the world of Dungeons and Dragons, shared Arnold’s quest, found some Faith and was horrified by the evil of “Big Saw.”
Tuesday showcased Hawaii, some misunderstood young women and a dangerous gamble. Rise above the real world with “No Such Thing.”
Yesterday Mario returned with an excellent adventure and singers found the “Perfect Day.” The audience shared the truth of war and the life of a “Chinatown Hustler.”
As the Festival enters its final day, students will discover what “Finding Leonardo,” “Home Wrecker,” “Alex in Seniorland,” “Winning Style,” and “Cops: Undercover” have in common. They all debuted at the ‘Iolani Film Festival to great acclaim, along with other, excellent videos made by ‘Iolani students.
The 4th Annual ‘Iolani Film Festival concludes today in Seto Hall during lunch, with its final screenings.
‘Iolani students worked diligently to craft excellent video for this end- of-the-year presentation.
There are Public Service Announcements, Movie Trailers, Music Videos, Documentaries – and of course – great, original stories.

THURSDAY May 24, the final day of this year’s festival, is truly spectacular. There is a dream out of control and a “Girl Next Door. ” Our own “Fergie” serenades us as we all experience “Love’s Heartache.”
