Volleyball Overwhelms Le Jardin, 25-3 and 25-12
30 minutes!
From the captains' meeting to the last point, this match was over in 30 minutes. I don't ever remember seeing a match over that quickly, and I've seen a lot of volleyball matches.
With Lauren Minkel serving, the Raiders ran off to an 18-0 lead before Le Jardin could get a point.
What makes a match like this interesting to me is the reserves play most of the game. I like to see those players who might not get much playing time if the opponent is Punahou or Kamehameha. I wasn't disappointed, as the reserves did a nice job continuing the early momentum.
The final game scores of 25-3 and 25-12 are a bit misleading. It really wasn't that close.
Next match is Saturday, 1:30 at Iolani, against University.
JV Black Swamped 25-12 and 25-7
Well, this match wasn't as quick as the day before when the varsity took on Le Jardin. That game lasted 30 minutes. This one was 34 minutes. But this time 'Iolani was on the losing end of a 25-12, 25-7 score as Kamehameha showed why they might be the favorite in the JV ranks as well as the varsity.
