Well, the second week of water polo is in the books, and the varsity I and intermediate teams remain unbeaten.
The varsity I beat an energized Pac-5 team 11-8. Rayfe Gaspar-Asaoke had a double hat trick, yes, six goals!
For the intermediates, they beat traditional rival in Punahou by a score of 10-3. The host Buffs were ahead 2-1 after the first period, and it looked like it would be a see-saw battle, but the Raiders took control with multiple goal performances by Stephen Jordan and Timmy Leong.
The varsity II also got a win, 17-5, against a rebuilding Pac-5.
All three teams have a combined record of 8 - 1. Not bad as we approach the mid-point of the season.
The varsity I team is off to Los Angeles Wednesday morning for the prestigious South Coast Tournament Thursday through Saturday. This is one of the toughest in-season tournaments and will surely test the mettle of the varsity team.
