Int. Water Polo Champs
by Al Linsky
Intermediate Boys Water Polo team won the ILH championship.
To go undefeated throughout a whole season and post season tournament is a very difficult thing to do. This team did it, and in fine fashion!
After a 15-5 victory over Le Jardin on Monday, could this team keep it going for one more game? And, this time it would be against a strong, second place Kamehameha.
At 2:57, Kacy Johnson got the Raiders on the board from right out in front, 1-0. The Warriors answered 4 seconds later, 1-1. Shovan Datta put the Raiders ahead from a little further out on the left side, 2-1. With 52 seconds left, Grant Chang made it 3-1 from the right side. Whew, and that was just the first quarter!
At 4:08 left in the second quarter, Grant struck again from about the same place, 4-1. Two minutes later, 5-1, Raiders. At :46, 6-1. With 6 seconds left in the quarter, Kacy struck again, 7-1, Raiders.
The third quarter was more of the same as Stephen Jordan scored with 4:14 left, 8-1. At 2:17 left, someone put in a tip from right in front. I think it was Matt Horner, but I really didn't see it well.

15 seconds later, the Warriors scored, 9-2. Shovan got that one back 10 seconds later, 10-2. The Warriors then got two in a row at 1:27 and 1:03, 10-4, to give the Warriors some momentum and thoughts that they could still pull this game out in the fourth quarter.
But, it was the Raiders that struck next, as Shovan scored again with 4:36 left in the match. At 3:20, it was the Warriors to make it 11-5, then again at 2:15 to make it 11-6. Kacy put a stop to that run with a quick one from the left side as he was closely guarded, 12-6. With 41 seconds left, the Warriors got one more, but that was it as the Raiders took home a 12-7 victory and the much coveted ILH Championship!
