Both the boys' and the girls' team went into this year's state championship with injuries to their top runners. The girls also  lost another top runner for the season due to illness.

Both teams, though, gave everything they had and placed third overall.

On the boys' side, Leilehua had a very strong team led by Bryce Jenkins and Paul Williams, who went 1-2 overall.

Leilehua ended up with a dominating 37 points, Kamehameha-Kapalama was second with 99, and Iolani placed third with 116. There were 20 scoring teams and a total of 198 runners.

The Raiders were led by Tyler Mulloy (10), followed by Borys Pleskacz (9), Sean Dudevoir (12), Trevor Leong (11), Robert Tamai (11), Justin Higa (9) and Clay Ozaki Train (12).

The girls were led by Maile Scarpino (11) and Amelia Linsky (11), followed by Leyna Esaki (11), Jenna Wong (10), Phoebe Jordan (10), Elysse Tom (11) and Amy Ishioka (12). Both Jenna and Amy were both running with injuries.

Punahou placed first with 64 points, Seabury Hall had 72 and the Raiders had 107. There were 18 scoring teams and 196 individual runners.

Both the teams are young and talented, so the future looks very bright for 'Iolani cross-country.
