Int. Soccer Wins Big
Intermediate Red Soccer Wins 4-1 Over MPI
by Al Linsky
It was a great day for soccer. Cool, a few sprinkles, but not too bad, and only before the game started.
MPI was a big team, 22 players by my count. The Raiders only had about 15 players, but that wasn't a detriment in any way.

At about eight minutes, with play almost totally on MPI's goal side, Malia Brennan got a slow roller by the MPI goalie. I think it would have made the goal on its own, but Kylie Takafuji caught up to it and made sure, 1-0, Raiders.
About two minutes later, Lexi Felix got off a booming shot from about 35 yards out in the center that went over the goalie, 2-0.
In the second half, Daisy Pascua made a nice move to get behind the defense, came in on the right side, and crossed it into the left side of the goal, 3-0.
At about 25 minutes, there was a small pileup in front of the Raider goal. A nicely placed chip shot tightened the score to 3-1.
One minute later, Malia Breenan, who gave the Owls fits all day, broke in front of the Owl goal with defenders hanging on, and got off a hard shot as she hit the turf. 4-1, Raiders.
