Girls Intermediate Tennis Starts Season With 4-1 Win
by Al Linsky
The defending champion Lady Raiders kept last year's streak going with an overpowering 4-1 win over the Warriors of Kamehameha.
Even the 4-1 score was a little misleading, since the only point given up was due to one of the Iolani players deciding not to push an injury since the Raiders had already won the first four matches. She was leading 6-3 at the time.
Next match is a week from today, Monday, 4:00 p.m. at Iolani vs. Maryknoll.
Boys Intermediate Tennis Starts Season With 5-0 Win
The defending champion Intermediate Raiders started out with a strong 5-0 win over a gutsy, but less experienced, Maryknoll team.

Iolani Intermediate tennis (both boys and girls) should have a strong season this year. Last year's teams were strong enough to win the ILH championship. This year, both look deeper and better.
Yesterday's match was over in less than an hour.
Next match is Tuesday, 4pm at Mid-Pacific vs Mid-Pacific.
Girls Intermediate Tennis Rolls to 5-0 Win
Even with four starters sitting out the match for various reasons, the Lady Raiders still had enough to beat Maryknoll 5-0 at the Iolani tennis complex on Monday.

The only match that was closely contested was the first singles position.
Maryknoll had to default at the second singles position as one of their players arrived late.
Coach Allison shook up the lineup to give more girls a chance to compete. This should help down the line as more girls gain experience in match conditions.
Next match is a week from Thursday, December 7, 4:00 p.m. at MPI vs MPl.
