In commemoration of the double ILH Championships won by the intermediate and varsity football teams, a special, collectors' edition T Shirt is on sale in the Student Activities Office.
The bright red Fruit of the Loom shirt proudly proclaims Iolani School on the front, and summarizes the championship seasons on the back with a list of the all the games and their scores for both the varsity and the intermediate teams. It sells for a highly reasonable price of $10.00.
The varsity team started its season with a 27-7 victory over the Governors of Farrington, beat St. Louis 36-31 and clinched the ILH Division II title with a 49-7 defeat of Damien.
In the post-season HHSSA Championship rounds, the Raiders beat Hawaii Preparatory Academy 17-7 before dropping the final game to Campbell 28-7.
The intermediate team began with a thrilling 20-19 come-from-behind victory over Kamehameha and concluded by winning a second, play-off game against St. Louis, 19-13.
Players, parents, grandparents, students, alumni and friends of Iolani would cherish a shirt that preserves the memory of these two championship seasons.
