Varsity Boys Soccer Overwhelms Monarchs, 11-0
December 29, 2008

This was the match for the reserves to show their stuff, and they showed it very well. The starting lineup only lasted about 10 minutes as it was obvious that a mismatch was occurring.

In the first minute, Keith Lum let a shot go from about 30 yards. It took a funny bounce over the goalie and in. 1-0.

One minute later, Nicholas Goo set up Brock Granger in front. The ball might have already been in by the time Brock knocked it in so I'm not sure who got credit for the goal. 2-0.

Marcus Joy then put one in at 8 minutes as another bad bounce had the Monarch goalie reeling. 3-0.

At nine minutes Patrick Shimoko set up Jordan Lee. 4-0.

At this point, Coach Chris Lee started wholesale substitutions giving everyone lots of playing time.

The Raiders kept the pressure on as the Monarchs found it very difficult to get the ball out of their end. At 25 minutes, Carl Gibson put a header in off a corner kick. 5-0.

Three minutes later Carl scored again on a beautiful spin move in front. 6-0.

At 32 minutes, Ben Menor scored on a penalty kick. 7-0.

At 34 minutes, it was Ben setting up Dylan Lee. 8-0.

In the second half, goalie Craig Yugawa replaced starter Chris Otani as the rest of the reserves continued to pound on the Monarchs.

At 25 minutes of the second half, Hiroki Tokuyama hit pay dirt from about 20 yards out. 9-0.

A few minutes later Hiroki scored again, this time from a nice set up from Taylor Van Etten. 10-0.

Near the end of the game Taylor got his own goal on a nice header from a nice Ryan Kohara set up. 11-0.
