If you caught a glimpse of some `Iolani kindergartners dressed in sweaters, long pants, jackets, scarves, mittens, and gloves, you weren't seeing things! They just wanted to dress warmly for their annual Winter Dress Day.
The kindergartners started the morning with hot chocolate, then went to the “freezing” lower gym to throw “snowballs” (Wadded up copier paper works just fine.), made angels in the snow, ice skated with partners, and gathered up “snow” to make some nifty snowmen.
Back in the cozy room, they made ziploc ice cream from scratch. What fun! And…no cases of frostbite were reported!
