On January 31, the Iolani Raiders Boosters Club sponsored the Varsity Boys Basketball Ohana Night. Lower School students, their families, and Raider supporters were invited to meet the team and dine on free pizza, salad and drinks. What a thrill to meet and talk to these larger-than-life athletes, many of whom got their basketball start on the hard courts of the Lower School.
The team got to see the Lower School students before the big basketball game against the Damian Monarchs. This year team posters were given to everyone so students could obtain autographs. But real Raider fans did not stop there as the team was also asked to sign basketballs and Iolani shirts and caps.
After dinner everyone cheered at the game dominated by the Raiders 64 – 35. During halftime, there was a free throw contest with great prizes courtesy of the Iolani Boosters. The event is always fun and exciting for everyone!
It was Raider-astic!
