The January earthquake that rattled Haiti devastated the lives and community of millions of people. This tragedy pulled at the hearts of the Iolani community and a schoolwide project to help the Haitian people was quickly planned.
Lower School students from kindergarten to sixth grade and faculty members met in the Art Room during recesses in February to donate money and their artistic hand. Students decorated t-shirts with hand-prints and colorful messages to inspire hope for the people of Haiti.
Everyone felt this project gave showed “We care” to those in dire need. The donated money and shirts will be sent to an organization for Haiti relief.
