Ye Olde Medieval Faire

Hear Ye,  Hear Ye!

The Class of 2014 had its turn to present the annual Medieval Faire.  The chapel courtyard was transformed into a scene from the Middle Ages to exhibit the wares, entertainment, food, and magic of the time period.  Embroiderers, cooks, herbalists, artisans, calligraphers and a merchant showed their wares, while knights defended their grounds from dragons.  Physicians, surgeons and monks all sought to heal the sick in their own ways.

Archers and game players showed off their skills, as did the maypole dancers.  Pilgrims, jesters and falconers could be seen meandering about the faire, sharing their information with passers-by.  Lower School students, teachers, and parents enjoyed food and craft booths, entertainment, and merriment.  A few even heeded the wanted posters and caught a notorious criminal or two!

The Medieval Faire is the culmination of an interdisciplinary project.  Language arts, social studies, math, art, religion, music, dance, drama, science, and PE all play a role in this fabulous event.
