3rd Grade Space Night

Third graders visited outer space on the evening of March 7.  Students revolved around six stations and launched their homemade bottle rockets, "repaired" the Iolani Space Station (in a weightless state), visited a Star Lab manned by Dr. Narayan Raja and 4 graduate students, fished for alien life under the ice of Jupiter's moon, Europa, and star and planet gazed through powerful telescopes.

Space Night '05 was a collaborative effort on the part of Mrs. Laurie White, K-3 science teacher, Ms. Catherine Fuller, 6th grade social studies teacher and Hokulea voyager and navigator, professional astronomer, Dr. Narayan Raja, and many dedicated and hard working 3rd grade parents.  The evening culminated in a campout under the stars for 3rd graders and their families.
