Forty-one Ala Wai Elementary second graders joined 'Iolani second graders for an afternoon of learning, friendship, and fun. Ala Wai second graders helped the 'Iolani Class of 2018 to work toward their goal of making 1,000,000 tally marks in the Second Grade Tally Mark Project. During their time together, the children counted the tally marks they had made. The students also shared about their favorite foods, hobbies, and sports as they worked on their memory books.
The afternoon ended with spirited conversations and laughter as the all enjoyed a hearty snack. A special thank you goes to Mrs. Soong and Mrs. Arakawa of Ala Wai School and the 'Iolani parent coordinators and volunteers for making this friendship activity meaningful and memorable.
