Aloha Festival, Hawaii's celebration of aloha, sponsored a Keiki Art Contest with the theme "Na Honu Hawaii - The Spirit Within." The contest was open to all fourth and fifth graders statewide. Under the guidance of Lower School art teacher, Cheri Keefer, Iolani students placed 30 of the 50 finalists. The winner and five honorable mention posters were also drawn by Iolani students.
Congratulations to winner, Tiffanie Takeda, and honorable mentions, Malia Brennan, Samantha Dacanay, Jennifer Kumura, Micah Lau, and Blaise Tesoro. All finalist artwork are on display at Pearlridge Center, and the winning six art pieces are printed on a limited supply of Aloha Festival note cards.
