Here it is only halfway through the first quarter, but we Iolani Kindergarten students already are getting sun smart and developing great habits. In addition to wearing spiffy sun hats on P.E. days, we worked with Jeff Bedard from the Blue Lizard company in Tennessee during science class. As he reinforced the importance of sunscreen, we watched and actually helped him blend up a batch of the lotion!
Then...what a blast we had September 21, on our annual beach field trip. This year was extra special, because we got to go to Hickam Harbor Beach on Hickam Air Force Base! A whole bus load of parents also came along to watch and enjoy us swimming, making sand sculptures, and playing on the beach...and we were all wearing sunscreen, of course!
