On Discoverers' Day 33 students in grades 3-6 learned some football fundamentals from varsity players. Sponsored by the 'Iolani Boosters Club and the varsity football team, the clinic was conducted under cloudless skies on the Eddie Hamada Field.
Boys and girls met the team, learned about the game of football, and had fun. The players worked with Lower School students and experienced teaching and coaching the future stars of 'Iolani.
The clinic covered warm-ups, offensive and defensive positions, and the kicking game. Children were able to apply what they learned in flag football games.
An All-American lunch of hot dogs and hamburgers with the players ended the day.
