Forty-two Ala Wai Elementary second graders braved the rainy weather to join the Iolani second graders for Friendship Day and an afternoon of fun. The students shared about their favorite foods, hobbies, and sports as they worked on a memory book together. The Iolani second graders also taught their new friends two math card games (Make Ten, Elevens) they learned earlier in the year to practice and reinforce addition and subtraction facts. Relays and snacks provided wonderful opportunities to play and laugh together. A special thank you goes to Mrs. Kwee and Mrs. Beebe ofAlaWaiSchooland the Iolani parent coordinators and volunteers for making this activity meaningful and memorable.
