Boys and girls from Wellington East Girls College and Rongotai College in New Zealand visited students at 'Iolani on Tuesday and held a lunchtime performance of their native Maori dances. (In New Zealand, college refers to high school.)
'Iolani teachers Mel Soares, Lehua Carvalho and student activities director Kirk Uejio gave the students a tour of the 'Iolani campus. The 'Iolani Polynesian Club also prepared lunch for the guests from New Zealand. In exchange, 'Iolani students danced hula and shared Hawaiian culture with them.
