'Iolani's French students received their state and national awards on Saturday for their performance in the Grand Concours, the National French Contest. They took an exam in March at the University of Hawaii that covered listening, grammar and reading.
Nationally, over 100,000 students took the exam at five different levels. In Hawaii, over 200 students from public and private schools, took the exam.
'Iolani had 20 state winners and 37 national medalists. French teacher, Mrs. Catherine Pettit, pronounced, "We are pleased with our students' accomplishments this year."
