Leading by only two points going into the team event, the varsity math team survived a great performance by McKinley High to place first at meet 4 held at Farrington High this past Saturday.
The team was led by perfect scorers Scott Kaneshiro (12), Nick Moriwaki (12) and Jon Wong (11).
The other team members were Jerrald Chau (12), Aaron Fong (12), Leslie Kim (12), Victoria Kim (9), Adeline Li (11), Jessi Saylors (11) and Robert Shimizu (12).
The final point totals were Iolani - 278, McKinley - 266, Roosevelt - 230, Punahou - 222 and Kamehameha - 221.
The JV team of Richard Chang (9), Hao Chen (9), Dustin Shigaki (9) and Mark Williams (10) notched an impressive victory by scoring 117 out of a possible 120 points.
Kamehameha placed second with 88 points and Mid-Pacific placed third with 44. Chang, Shigaki and Williams earned perfect scores.
