NFL Visits Iolani

The 2010 No Free Lunch (NFL) Individual Business/Economics Challenge qualifying round was conducted on March 3. Students answered multiple choice questions on business/economics trivia and current events.

The questions were drafted by NFL officers Jesse Franklin-Murdock, Adrian Catalan, Michelle Ky, and Mark Grozen-Smith.

Congratulations to the following students for reaching the semifinals of the 2010 NFL Individual Business/Economics Challenge:

Senior Division: Sean Cockey, Vlad Bernstein, Andrew Ellison, and Will Chambers.

Underclass Division: Bobby Huang, Tyler Tokunaga, Steven Yee, Sho Kajima,  Tracy Young, and William McQuiston.

William McQuiston was the first ever 9th grader to reach the semifinals.

The Final Lightning Buzzer Round will be conducted at lunch in the courtyard near senior benches on March 30.

Winners of each division will receive $200 U.S. savings bonds and runners-up will receive $100 bonds.

The judge of the lightning round will be the first holder of the Iolani Economics Chair, Professor Robert Frank, Cornell University's well known New York Times columnist.
