The team of Aaron Fong, Scott Kaneshiro and Robert Shimizu missed only one problem and amassed 84 points to place first at the State Math Bowl held at BYUH this past Saturday.
Roosevelt took second place with 74 points, and McKinley placed third with 68.
'Iolani and Roosevelt were tied going into the final problem; the three seniors had to come through under pressure. And they did.
This is the fifth consecutive Math Bowl championship for 'Iolani, and the ninth in the last eleven years.
