'Iolani placed first in both the varsity and JV divisions at the first math meet of the year held at Iolani this past Saturday.
Perfect scorers William Chambers (10), Aaron Fong (12), John Jin (12) and Nick Moriwaki (12) helped 'Iolani amass 277 points (out of a possible 310).
The other team members were Richard Chang (9), Jerrald Chau (12), Scott Kaneshiro (12), Leslie Kim (12), Robert Shimizu (12), and Jon Wong (11).
Hawaii Baptist placed 2nd with 203 points and Roosevelt took 3rd with 200. McKinley (194), Kamehameha (192) and Punahou (177) placed 4th, 5th and 6th, respectively.
The JV team scored 105 points (out of a possible 120) to Kamehameha's 91 and Punahou's 89.
The team members were perfect scorer Hao Chen (9), Anders Lee (10), Teresa Ou (9) and Dustin Shigaki (9).
Meet Two will be held October 13 at Roosevelt High.
