Both the Varsity and JV math teams placed first at Math Meet Three held at Aiea High this past Saturday.
Led by perfect scorers Aaron Fong (12), Scott Kaneshiro (12), Leslie Kim (12), Jessi Saylors (11) and Jon Wong (11), the varsity team amassed 270 points to McKinley's 243, Roosevelt's 232, Kamehameha's 232, Punahou's 224 and Hawaii Baptist's 212.
The other team members were Jerrald Chau (12), Samuel Cheng (12), Nick Moriwaki (12), Robert Shimizu (12) and Mark Williams (10).
The JV dominated their division by scoring 103 points to McKinley's 57, Kamehameha's 51 and Punahou's 43. The team members were William Chambers (10) (perfect score), Richard Chang (9), Sean Cockey (10) and Dustin Shigaki (9).
The JV team actually outscored the varsity in the Geometry event 35 to 30 with one less participant!
Meet Four will be held on January 19 at Farrington High.
