Mane O Ke Ola 2020

Mane O Ke Ola, which is ‘Iolani School's literary magazine for students in grades 9 through 12, is published annually in the fourth quarter of each school year.

This year, due to the campus closure, hard-copy versions of Mane O Ke Ola 2020 were not printed. However, the student editors and faculty advisor met regularly online and were able to publish an impressive digital edition of the school's award-winning literary magazine with the theme of "Quarantine."

Aloha readers,

Thank you so much for your continued support of our publication. This year’s theme, “Quarantine,” represents the strange mix of emotions clouding our minds in this uncertain time. The magazine is split into two sections: dark and light. The “dark” first half includes incoming smoke and black text, embodying the sadness and frustration taking root within us. In contrast, the white text of the “light” section heralds hope breaking through the shadows.

While we wish you could each receive a physical copy of this magazine, we hope that you will still take the time to read through this digital edition.

Sincerely,
The
Mane O Ke Ola Editors
