Applications are available for students entering Kindergarten and Grades 6, 7, 8 and 9. Occasionally, new students enter in Grades 10, 11 and 12. Grades 1-5 are not entry levels.
Applications for the 2020-21 school year are available beginning Aug. 15, 2019.
'Iolani School's Online Admission Application is powered by Ravenna, our application portal that will house all application documents and serve as a 24 hour, one-stop shop to applying. Simply create a Ravenna account using a current email address and follow the steps listed.
'Iolani's K-1 Community includes 4 classrooms of 24 kindergartners, for a total of 96 entering students. Applicants will visit the campus twice. Once for an Individual Aptitude Assessment and again for the Group Readiness Session. Families will have the opportunity to tour the campus during the Individual Aptitude Assessment. Additional application requirements include a Teacher Reference Report and parent questionnaire.
Boys must turn five between June 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020.
Girls must turn five between September 1, 2019, and September 30, 2020.
Families interested in applying should create an account in Ravenna and follow the steps listed there to complete an application by October 30. Once an application is submitted, your child will be assigned a visit time and you may upload required documents. Please contact us with any questions in the interim.
There are 50 openings for 6th grade. Students applying for 6th will be asked to submit teacher reference reports, report cards, an SSAT score report, and a Character Skills Assessment (found at ssat.org). They will also participate in an activity session on campus. The Admission Committee will look at all of these items holistically.
Your child must currently be enrolled in a 5th grade curriculum.
Families interested in applying should create an account in Ravenna and submit an application (step 1) by December 1st. Once the application is submitted, you will be assigned a visit date for your child's activity session. All other steps must be completed by January 31st.
There are 50 openings in grades 7 and 9 and approximately 15 openings in grade 8. Applicants will need to submit teacher reference reports, report cards, and an SSAT score report. Applicants also visit campus once on a Saturday to interview and complete a writing sample. Campus tours are offered as part of the Saturday visit.

The Admission Committee looks at all of the application items holistically.
Lower School grades 1-5 are not entry points at 'Iolani School.

Upper School grades 10, 11, and 12 are based on space availability and are not traditional entry points. Families interested in these grades should apply with the knowledge that space is limited.
