Overview

ʻIolani's Kindergarten program includes four classrooms with 24 students in each class, welcoming a total of 96 students each year. To be considered for admission, applicants will undergo an individual visit and a group readiness assessment. A tour of campus is provided during the child’s individual visit. In addition, applicants are required to provide a teacher reference report and a parent questionnaire.

Eligibility

The school has closely examined the readiness skills of this year's applicant pool and has formulated the following guidelines to apply for the 2027-2028 school year:

• Children of all genders born between June 1, 2021, and Aug. 31, 2022 are eligible to apply.

Thereafter, the following are ‘Iolani’s birth date ranges for all genders for kindergarten admission: 

• 2028-29 school year: born between June 1, 2022, and Aug. 31, 2023
• 2029-30 school year: born between June 1, 2023, and Aug. 31, 2024

Overview

Grade 6 is the final year of the Lower School at ʻIolani and offers students a unique opportunity to become part of the school community before transitioning to the Upper School (grades 7 through 12). Grade 6 consists of nine homerooms with approximately 19 to 20 students in each class. Each year, approximately 80 new students are admitted, bringing the total class size to about 175 students.

Eligibility

Your child must be currently enrolled in or have already completed grade 5.*

Overview

Lower School grades 1 through 5 are not entry points at ‘Iolani School. 

Upper School grades 10 and 11 are based on space availability and are not traditional entry points. Families interested in grades 10 and 11 should apply with the knowledge that space is limited.
