‘Iolani's Kindergarten consists of four classrooms accommodating 24 kindergartners each, with a total of 96 students being accepted each year.  To be considered for admission, applicants will undergo an individual visit and a group readiness assessment.  A tour of campus is provided during the child’s individual visit.  In addition, applicants are required to provide a teacher reference report and parent questionnaire.

To apply for admission, interested families must create an account in Ravenna and follow the application steps listed.  Once the application is submitted, a scheduled appointment will be assigned for the child, and families can upload documents.  Annually, applications are available beginning August 1 and the deadline to apply is October 15.   If there are any questions or concerns, please contact us for further assistance.

The school has closely examined the readiness skills of this year's applicant pool and has formulated the following guidelines to apply for the 2026-2027 school year:

• Children of all genders born between June 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021 are eligible to apply.

Thereafter, the following are ‘Iolani’s birth date ranges for all genders for kindergarten admission:

2027 - 2028 school year: birth dates falling within June 1, 2021 to August 31, 2022

2028 - 2029 school year: birth dates falling within June 1, 2022, to August 31, 2023

Overview

Grade 6 completes the final year of the Lower School at ʻIolani School. Entering at this grade level provides students with many benefits before moving on to the Upper School (grades 7-12). Grade 6 at 'Iolani School consists of nine homerooms, accommodating 19-20 students each.

There are 80 new openings for Grade 6. This brings the grade to approximately 175 students.

Lower School grades 1-3 and 5 are not entry points at ‘Iolani School. If you have any additional questions about these grade levels, please contact Ms. Alexandra Holzman directly at aholzman@iolani.org.

Upper School grades 10 and 11 are based on space availability and are not traditional entry points. Families interested in these grades should apply with the knowledge that space is limited.
