2022 Scholastic Art Awards

Eighty-eight pieces of artwork by ‘Iolani School students were on display within the 59th Annual Hawai‘i Regional Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition at the Hawai‘i State Art Museum. Each piece of artwork (from all visual art disciplines — drawing, painting, photography, design 3-D, ceramics and mixed media) was judged along with thousands of statewide entries, before being recognized with a 2022 Scholastic Art Award (Gold Key, Silver Key or Honorable Mention), including a pair of “American Visions” nominated works by Ryder Kon ’24 and Lexi Fujita ’23. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program is the longest-running and most prestigious student arts recognition program in the United States. It was established in 1923 by M.R. Robinson to encourage, foster, and reward student creativity across the country.
