2025 Scholastic Art Awards

Thirty-one ‘Iolani School students, in grades 8-12, were recognized with a 2025 Scholastic Art Award in various visual arts categories, including drawing, painting, photography, and mixed media. Each work, which reflected their exceptional talent and dedication, was judged along with thousands of statewide entries.

Collectively, those 31 ‘Iolani Upper School students earned 17 Gold Key awards, 15 Silver Key awards and 24 Honorable Mentions.

In addition, Olivia Arnold '27 received the distinguished American Visions Award for “Winged Renewal,” a fashion piece that highlighted exceptional creativity and craftsmanship.

"Winged Renewal" and the 17 stunning pieces of artwork by ‘Iolani students that earned Gold Key awards were on showcased during the 62nd Annual Hawai‘i Regional Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition, alongside other outstanding student works from across the state, at Capital Modern (the Hawai‘i State Art Museum [HiSAM]).

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program is the longest-running and most prestigious student arts recognition program in the United States. It was established in 1923 by M.R. Robinson to inspire, nurture and celebrate creative expression among students nationwide.
