Face Shield Project

'Iolani Produces Thousands of Face Shields At The Sullivan Center

Recognizing a huge community need, Head of School Dr. Timothy Cottrell and a team from the Sullivan Center for Innovation and Leadership have transformed the iLab into a manufacturing center for face shields designed for healthcare workers and first responders.
Using a prototype designed and created by faculty, ‘Iolani School has quickly become one of the largest independent producers of face shields in Hawai'i, producing and donating thousands of face shields that have been distributed locally and even to hospitals in hotspots like New York City and Seattle.

Our innovative teams are already looking at other needs as well and have developed a prototype of an intubation box which may be put into production
Fabrication of the face shields and another personal protection equipment will continue as long as there is a need. We currently have requests for more than 4,000 additional shields.  If you would like to make a gift to support this effort click here.
