Summer Programs

The mission of the ‘Iolani Summer Programs is to continue the tradition of leadership and academic excellence in offering students from the community and abroad an opportunity to enrich their knowledge and curiosity through engaging curriculum and interactive learning environments in order to foster lifelong learners.

The 2024 ‘Iolani Summer Program is open to current ‘Iolani students and visiting students. Kindergarten classes are open to newly enrolling ‘Iolani students ONLY.

Summer Registration Dates

All registrations begin at 12 p.m. (noon) Hawai‘i Standard Time

Current ‘Iolani student registration opens:

  • Wednesday, 2/21/24 - entering grades 7 and 8
  • Friday, 2/23/24 - entering grade 9 
  • Tuesday, 2/27/24 - entering grades 10-12
  • Thursday, 2/29/24 - entering grades 4-6
  • Tuesday, 3/5/24 - entering grades 2 and 3
  • Thursday, 3/7/24 - entering grade 1

Visiting Student Registration:

  • Thursday, 3/14/24 - Siblings of current ‘Iolani students (Grades 1-12) and Newly enrolling ‘Iolani grades 6-12 students
  • Tuesday, 3/26/24 - grades 1-3
  • Thursday, 3/28/24 - grades 4-6
  • Tuesday, 4/2/24 - grades 7-12
  • Tuesday, 4/16/23 - Newly enrolling ‘Iolani Kindergarten students

Registration will close on Friday, May 10, for ALL summer programs. No refunds starting Friday, May 10.

Requirements for International Students

Student Eligibility: Visiting students attending schools outside the United States must turn 7 (seven) years old before June 10, 2024 to be eligible for classes (entering grades 2-12).

Pre-Registration Documents:
International Students must submit the following PRIOR TO REGISTRATION. Documents may be uploaded to the registration portal starting March 1, 2024. Allow up to ten business days for review. The Registration Appointment Date will be assigned and emailed to you upon approval.

  1. Copy of Valid Passport (Grades 2-12)
  2. Student Video Statement of English Proficiency (Grades 2-6)

Students must possess a proficient level in English in order to attend ‘Iolani Summer Programs to ensure they have a safe and meaningful summer experience. This means they are able to comprehend and communicate effectively in English, and can complete cognitively demanding work in the content areas at the appropriate grade level in English.

  • Please refer to the Summer Programs Catalogue and the course descriptions to determine if your registered courses require a textbook.
  • Textbooks can be purchased on the MBS Direct website: https://bnck-12.com/iolani.htm. Select “Order Your Books” and follow the prompts.
  • If you have any questions about ordering online please call MB Direct Customer Service at (800) 325-3252 or email VB@mbsBooks.com.
  • Items not available through MBS Direct (i.e. Japanese packets) will be available to order online via iolani.org/shop, beginning on May 30, 2024. Select "Pickup at the Campus Store."
  • The Summer Programs booklist by class for all required books for grades 7-12 is available on the ‘Iolani School Campus Store website. Click on the links for iBooks or kindle books to download to your iPad.
